Re:Best and Worst practices in intercultural communication Is there a slight possibility that your colleague just was not really prepared or not really an expert? Usually it results in this kind of "sliding over subjects".
Maybe I'm oversimplifying but I think it's usually wise to consider the simplest solution first...

Some would argue that it depends on the subject but most evidence indicates that attention had started to wane after only 10 minutes. Therefore greater use of metaphors may help but what about getting some participation from the.. more..

1) Since all parties involved are really unaware of cultural differences dividing them, there always will be million thing that you did not define nor discuss, because it didn’t occur to you that they were necessary to define.
